Job recruiting using social media networks is a growing trend and it should be something all employers and employees take seriously. Some areas of the country are seeing a significantly larger percentage of usage of social media in this way than others. That gap could be a factor in the future, some experts warn.

Social Networking for Jobs

Social networks have become the place to go to find work. LinkedIn.com, for example, is considered the most popular tool for posting a job availability. About 77 percent of openings are shared through LinkedIn.com. That’s according to the report, “2012 Bullhorn Research Rankings Report: An Inside Look at Social Recruiting in the USA.” It does not stop there, though. Both Twitter and Facebook added to the mix with 54 percent for the former and 25 percent for the later.

States Not Equal

However important social networking to find a job is, there is still clear evidence that indicates not all states share the passion. In the Northeast portion of the country, there is a significantly
